The Water Crisis

Water Scarcity
Water is essential for our life and having access to it is a Human Right. However,  a great percentage of the world’s population still lack access to clean water and sanitation. This because of scarcity; either of availability of water or lack of the infrastructure to take water from rivers and aquifers. These scarcity problems are only getting worse due to population growth.
Although the water crisis affects everyone suffering it, women and children are the ones who experience the worst. Women are mostly the ones who have to collect water. This does not only mean to carrying loads of water through longs distances. It also involves missing hours that could have been dedicated to work or education, driving them to the vicious cycle of poverty. Moreover, they have to risk their life by going alone into desolated areas in order to find water. Something similar happen to children. As they sometimes have to look for water to support their families, they miss time of school. What’s more, they are more vulnerable to water-related diseases such as diarrhea.

If people is educated and aware of the crisis the World is going through, it has the possibility to be improved. We could start by doing the change ourselves.
